About
Ayurvedologie is an Ayurvedic health & wellness company headquartered in Southern California, currently operating locally and virtually. Ayurveda means the "science" or "knowledge" of "life", and is a natural & holistic longevity health science more than 5,000 years old that originates in India. The key principles of Ayurveda include its holistic approach to personalized health and wellness, its reliance on natural remedies, its focus on prevention to maintain harmony, its time-tested ancient wisdom, and its tools for modern wellness (see FAQ for more details).
The keys to longevity and contentment are revealed in Ayurveda through a mind-body-consciousness paradigm — that how we think, how we feel, how we digest also affects and is affected by the food we eat, our daily routines, our interactions, choice of exercise, the seasons, life events, daily stress, etc. It is applicable to everyone at every stage of life. Neeta Verma, Founder & Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner
Twenty-five years ago, fresh from Stanford graduate school and while working as a mechanical engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area, I met a group of monks at a weekly meditation circle who shared insights about my health and a few concepts about Ayurveda after reading my Ayurvedic pulse and listening to me. The words stayed with me and ignited a spark of curiosity that has sustained to this day. It would take time for circumstance to change my singular focus to holistic health -- a day when I needed Ayurveda, an integrative solution that reached beyond the bounds of fitness, nutrition, and modern medicine.
That day arrived. Some years ago, I began waking up in the pre-dawn hours to severe stomach pain. I reached out to my doctor for advice and was prescribed two weeks of medications. During that time, the pain had become sporadic but not progressively better.
quickly realized that I had no idea what foods to avoid to prevent it from getting worse, and perhaps even more, what foods to eat to soothe my stomach. It was then that I reached out to a holistic doctor, an Ayurvedic doctor, one who is trained to educate me about a diet that would best suit me and my body constitution. After an initial consultation, I altered my diet to “cooling” foods and herbs, and introduced stress-reduction techniques such as breath work, yoga, and meditation. I stopped running in the midday sun. I ate meals on time. I ate fresh cooked food. I listened to my body. Within
health through Ayurveda. Many holistic doctors agree that food is medicine and that good fitness leads to good health, but what about the influence of our thoughts and our emotions on our well being? How do we actually factor that into the equation for good health in a way that is simple and can be self-managed? How do we decide which specific foods and lifestyle activities suit us? How do we answer the question, "What should I eat to be healthy?"
Ayurveda has a comprehensive approach that has stood the test of time, having been practiced for several millenia. It imparts wisdom, a framework for the mind, body, and consciousness, an understanding of the gut microbiome and human tendencies that allow each individual to achieve a state of harmony through a personalized approach.

My Vision
Despite decades of advancement in medical technology, the state of health of the human population is at serious risk and further, communities across the world are facing nutritional crises. This is not our fate. We can take back control through cultural and community-based food education, access, and advocacy.
It's through time that we now have the opportunity to complement the advances of modern medicine with the wisdom of Ayurvedic medicine. Empowering society with time-tested holistic care through Ayurveda allows each community to take back control of their health through natural, more cost-effective means. Ayurveda's mind-body-consciousness and nutrition science paradigm are the path forward and the foundation of my practice. I have worked with dozens of clients and I look forward to meeting you and your communities, working with you to help you take back control of your own health.
